Larkspur robotics team heads to the state championship
After a season of late nights in the maker space, the Larkspur Lions finished first at regionals and earned a spot at the state finals.
By Priya Natarajan, Robotics Coach

The Larkspur Lions robotics team took first place at the Valley Regional Robotics Challenge on Saturday, earning the school’s first invitation to the state championship in March.
Twelve students in grades 8 through 12 designed, built, and programmed this year’s robot, which had to sort and stack game pieces on its own for the first fifteen seconds of every match.
“They tested every idea, threw out the ones that didn’t work, and kept going. That’s what engineers do,” said Coach Priya Natarajan.
How families can help
The team is raising funds for travel and parts before the state finals. Gifts to the Annual Fund marked “Robotics” go directly to the team, and families are welcome at the send-off rally in the Hale Science Center.
